Racing at the Houston Motorsports Park

The Houston Motorsports Park drag strip is open to all types of racing and street legal vehicles, including motorcycles. All drivers who are planning to race must have a valid state driver’s license or an NHRA Competition License and sign a waiver and release form. The venue serves as a safe alternative to illegal street racing and is available for private testing. Fuel and nitrous are available and the site hosts both old school and new school racers in a safe and organized environment.

Members of certain car clubs and other auto organizations interested in racing at the Houston Motorsports Park can register for several shows and events throughout the year. Those interested in drag racing can race on a 50-foot wide strip that has been perfectly laid to resist the wear and tear of spinning tires. After crossing the finish line, the driver can let off the accelerator and apply the brakes in the shutdown area before returning to the pit. All vehicles must pass a basic safety inspection.
